Countdown

Straight Shooter

Only 1.5 more days and then I have 3 weeks off before I start my new gig!

Please forgive my uninspired shot of an office building. I was starting to dose off in the afternoon and took this picture when I went outside for some fresh air. Tell tale sign of when I can no longer keep awake is my handwriting. It becomes illegible and I have no idea what I'm writing.

Let me share this thought with you. I have no idea why Europeans and especially their government adminstrations hate skyscrapers from the bottom of their hearts. From Tokyo to Mumbai to Rio you see business skylines. Most of them show great architecture and creativity and represent the Top of the Top in terms of economic power. In Europe only London and Frankfort have something that may be called skyline. In Switzerland we have only a couple of skyscrapers. Most of them are ugly as a sin, placed in the suburb, and homes of the those who could not afford a home without social aid.

I think skyscrapers in Europe would ruin the whole traditional atmosphere of the place. That's what draws tourists - the quaintness of Europe. If I want to see skyscrapers I can go elsewhere.
