Be a Rebel

Leather

About the picture: I shot this with a camera phone. Not too shabby eh?

About other topics: I received my first issue of "Outdoor Photographer" recently and it had a nice little article I'd like to share with you. In order to get memorable pictures, you have to be a photographic rebel. To do that, follow these 10 guidelines:

1. Shoot at night
2. Go with the flow (ie - motion blurs)
3. Embrace the surreal (move beyond a literal representation)
4. Look for extreme angles
5. Shoot into the sun
6. Light up the world (use flash for special effects)
7. Go beyond the trophy shot (Don't take pictures of cliched shots. Get off the beaten path)
8. Seek conflict (Include contrast in your pictures)
9. Learn to love adversity (photographing in adverse conditions such as right before a storm for dramatic clouds)
10. Go your own way! (Break photo rules to your advantage)
