- I found out that Rio de Janeiro beat Chicago to host the 2016 Olympics. I guess Obama's star power wasn't enough to persuade the honchos in the Olympic Committee to choose the windy city.
- Ricky Gervais has a new movie out called "The Invention of Lying". I may be biased, but I think it would be a funny movie, except the part about religion.
- San Francisco's various city departments will be running out of money soon. What's new? Somehow the city manages to hobble along year after year.
